A simultaneous translation system lets an audience hear a speaker in their own language in real time, without waiting for the speaker to finish. Using the Monacor ATS-80ST as a central transmitter, the system works by broadcasting the interpreter's voice wirelessly to individual audience receivers.
How the Workflow Functions
Audio Input: The main speaker talks into a microphone.
Interpreter Feed: That audio travels directly to the interpreter (usually in a separate room or soundproof booth).
Real-Time Translation: The interpreter listens through a headset and translates aloud into their microphone in real time.
Main Transmitter: The transmitter takes the interpreter's voice through its XLR/Microphone or RCA (Line) inputs.
Wireless Broadcast: The transmitter broadcasts the audio over a wireless UHF frequency to the listeners.
Audience Receivers: Listeners use pocket-sized receivers with connected earphones to hear the translation.
